It started as a way to burn off the weekend's excesses. In 1938, a group of bored British expatriates in Kuala Lumpur, led by the legendary A.S. Gispert (affectionately known as 'G'), founded the Hash House Harriers. They named it after their residence, the "Hash House," famous for its uninspired but dependable mutton hash.
Based on the traditional English "Paper Chase," the rules were simple: a Hare starts with a head start, laying a trail of paper (now flour or chalk) through the roughest terrain possible. The Harriers (the pack) then try to hunt the hare down, shouting "ON-ON!" when they find the true scent.
The original social club in KL where it all began. Known for bad food and great stories.

The Colombo Hash House Harriers (CH3) brought the global tradition to the teardrop island in 1980. For over 40 years, we’ve been hacking through the cinnamon gardens, swampy marshlands, and urban jungles of Colombo every single week.
